After gaining recognition at Marvel for his pencilling work for Spiderman, Todd McFarlane and six other artists founded Image Comics.
At image, Todd launched Spawn, his own superhero character. The book's debut in 1992 sold an amazing 1.7 million copies, an unprecedented feat in independent comics.
In 1994, Todd decided to form his own toy company, now known as McFarlane Toys, to be able to guarantee his fans a quality product that he personally was completely satisfied with. Intricately detailed, highly articulated and reasonably priced, Spawn action figures have become some of the most highly sought-after toys on the market.
Today, McFarlane Toys is one of the world's largest and most highly regarded toy manufacturers.
In addition to Spawn, McFarlane Toys has produced figures from such properties as KISS, Shrek, X-Files, Austin Powers, Metal Gear Solid, Clive Barker, Akira, the Beatles, Army of Darkness, Jaws, Rob Zombie, Alien, Predator, AC/DC and dozens of others.
