Founded in 1993, the Westlake Village, Calif.-based Sideshow started as a provider of makeup effects, props and animatronic puppets for the film and TV industry. The toy phase began in 1994, when the team developed more than 250 products for 12 different companies. The company moved itself out into the forefront in 1999, with the talents of 3D design director Mat Falls, his design partner Ken Morgan, sculptor Olaf Hartvigson and painter Tom Gilliland. Sideshow put together a new generation of Universal Studios monster toys. The incredible detail of the figures in this line bought instant recognition and critical aclaim. Today, Sideshow is a manufacturer of licensed collectible products. Its portfolio includes The Lord of the Rings, James Bond, Star Trek, Universal Studios Classic Monsters, Monty Python's Holy Grail, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jim Henson's Dark Crystal and the Muppets, Young Frankenstein, Outer Limits, and more In addition, Sideshow manufactures its own line of historically accurate 12" figures under the brands: Bayonets & Barbed Wire (WWI), Brotherhood of Arms (American Civil War) and Six Gun Legends (western characters).
