| □ | Profile: 01 - EVA-01 Test Type (purple)   Evangelion Unit-01 is a Test Type, improved from the Proto Type Unit-00 and the first EVA to encounter real-time combat with an Angel. It appears more humanoid in nature, with two eyes to Unit-00's one eye, and has a mouth which normally remains closed during battle. Its first sortie was also the first for pilot Shinji Ikari, who entered the EVA with no experience in piloting whatsoever. Despite this, the synchronization ratio between Shinji and the EVA was abnormally high. |
