US Pilot 'Doc Miller'
Character profile
US PILOT
This figure represents a WWII US P-40 pilot, circa Pearl Harbor, 1941. The figure is dress in tan pants with a slightly darker shirt, belt, tie, and brown flight boots (with lace detail). His equipment includes rear parachute harness and pack, yellow cloth life vest with air hose and replica printing, handgun with removable clip and holster, cloth flight helmet, goggles, oxygen mask and hose, Air Corps hat with insignia, knife and scabbard, watch and sunglasses.
US Pilot
Late in 1941 the US was not well prepared for war with Japan and the attack on the Pearl Harbor caught the forces there by surprise. Available to the Air Force at that time was the Curtis P-40 Warhawk. Unfortunately, the majority of these aircraft were destroyed on the ground in the attack on Pearl and those that were able to take to the air were no match for the superior numbers of the Japanese. The P-40 pilots were valiant and courageous despite being ill prepared.
