□ | About Bluebird Toys ![]() ![]() Bluebird Toys of Swindon, England, took the toy market by storm when it was founded by Torquil Norman in 1980 and enjoyed worldwide success with its Magic Teapot and Polly Pocket products. Toy giant Mattel has been distributing Polly Pocket since 1989. In September of 1998, Bluebird closed its plant, when its owner Mattel integrated the plant's activities into its own UK operation. There was no production of Polly Pocket in 1998, but in 1999 they were booming again with the Action Park series and the newly styled Polly. |
