October Toys at 2008 SDCC: Series 1 Z.O.M.B.I.E.s line,

The October Toys/Toy Break booth had one of the creepiest looking displays at Comic Con...the Z.O.M.B.I.E. girl.  The cadaver was their to promote their new Series 1 Z.O.M.B.I.E.s line, which is currently available in 4 colorways: green, blue, white and glow-in-the-dark.  The line is clearly inspired by the 80's M.U.S.C.L.E. men figures, and who didn't love those?
They also had their Bandwa figures available.  They look as if the Gwins got a good dosage of kaiju.

If your favorite Thanksgiving Day bird isn’t turkey…but penguin…you’re in luck!  We’re going to be giving away two sets of October Toys’ Gwin – Series 3.  How can we do that?!?!, you may ask.  Well, the fine folks at October Toys have made it all possible.

Answer that question in the comments section of this post and include your email address in the proper field.  The contest will run through November 26th at 11:59PM EST.  The winners will be chosen randomly and we’re asking that only those living in the continental US enter.  Good luck!

October toys Aug 2007 Gwin Series 3 Review

October Toys has released Series 3 of their popular Gwin line.  The character is based on the Linux mascot, Tux, which was created by Larry Ewing in 1996.  The third series consists of designs from 5 of the brightest artists out there: HideousBoi, Jim Koch, Lou Pimentel, Squidboy and Bill Rawley.

The entire Gwin Series 3 line is packaged in the same pink and black window front box.  The package contains pictures of the five designs on one side and the artist logos on the other.  The figure sits in a plastic tray.  No twist ties either, which is a definite plus.
The Figures
The Gwin is a 2.5” tall platform toy that is made of rotocast vinyl. The third iteration is a five figure series with designs fromHideousBoi (Bat), Jim Koch (Goofball), Lou Pimentel (Snack Time),Squidboy (Night of the Living Gwin) and Bill Rawley (Barbarigwin). There a no points of articulation.  And each design is limited to a run of 200 pieces

Square Enix October 2007 Valkyrie Profile Sculpture Arts - Lenneth Valkyria

Wow. Just… wow. Gimme a second to soak this up. Square Enix is putting out a monstrous Lenneth Valkyria figure/diorama as part (or possibly all) of their Valkyrie Profile Sculpture Arts line. The godly figure really looks awesome. It's well put together, properly dark, and just an amazing thing to have on any shelf… or its own shelf… or a dedicated display case. The full figure and base stands 430mm tall. It, yeah, really nice. HOWEVER, 430mm of pure sex comes at a price. And it's not a nice price. Lenneth is going to run you 56,700 yen (OH GOD) this October if you want to get your hands on her.
Hit the jump for the only shot I could find. If you see any others please give a LINKY WINKY!

McFarlane Oct 2007 12-Inch Walter Payton Arriving In October

Sweetness! Bears Legend Gets Super-sized
June 01, 2007
Copyright 2007 TMP International, Inc.

McFarlane Toys is answering the requests from our dedicated Sports Picks collectors and offering a new 12-inch NFL figure this fall.

For our first 12-inch NFL figure since 2005, we've selected Hall of Fame Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton.

You'll find this Payton figure at Toys 'R' Us and specialty retailers. It will be released in two different paint versions. There will be three white jersey figures being released for every blue jersey figure, and the support pole for the figure will be about 25 percent shorter than its 6-inch cousin.

Look for the 12-inch Walter Payton figure in stores this October.
